Back in October I spent several week nights and weekends watching retro pinup and geisha makeup tutorial videos. The goal was to master the art for a Halloween getup. What I didn't realize at the time was that subconsciously I was learning a lot about contours of the face, highlights, shadows, colors, and expressions. With the 100 years series, I found myself referencing from these makeup tricks and applying them to the oil portraits.
David is Brenden's big brother. He is four.
